Introduction

We have started our blog to share with you our journey in serving the Lord with our talents through Wycliffe Bible Translators.

Over the past 3 years, God has guided our path and confirmed along the way that he would have us work, using our current skill sets, with Wycliffe.  The path has been somewhat long and has included many dips and turns, but it has all been to prepare us for work in this capacity. One of the steps in this decision process was to visit the Ukarumpa "translation hub" in Papua New Guinea.  We took this two week trip along with our daughter Clara in April of 2011 in order to get a good feeling for what life would be like in PNG.  This trip proved to be further confirmation towards making the decision to join Wycliffe Canada.

One of the reasons we love the idea of a blog is so that we can effectively request prayer during this process.  Up till now, we have relied heavily on our God and will continue to do so during this membership process.  Our immediate plan is to attend a 2 week orientation course called COPE (Cultural Orientation for Personal Endurance & Enjoyment).  This course is a requirement for all prospective Wycliffe members and we are hoping it will serve to further prepare us for the coming years.  Please pray for this course to a be a significant blessing in our preparation and that God would continue to confirm His call on our lives.

Our goal is for Jon to work in the software development field in Ukarumpa; helping out all the different systems that are used there. Also for Candace to help out in the dental clinic working as a Hygienist.

Please bookmark this blog and check regularly.  We would love for you to partner with us in prayer over the coming months.  Also, feel free to contact either of us if you so desire.  (Jon - jonjagt at gmail.com and Candace - candys29 at hotmail.com)

Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith— to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.
